Antonio Sanders El is presently housed at the Kinross Correctional Facility, which is located in Michigan’s Upper Penninsula. Sanders El is hopeful that pending juvenil justice reform initiatives will result in his being resentenced and released from prison. Presently, Sanders El is serving a life-withour-parole (LWOP) sentence and has been incarcerated for almost 37 years.
I recently exchanged JPay emails with Sanders El. He responded to my admission that I have neglected to stay in touch with him. Sanders El expressed to me what I and many other members of the PrisonNation have experienced firsthand, which is a sense of despair over the loss of loved ones, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, brothers, relatives, and friends. Anyone who serves a long term-of-years or LWOP sentence goes through this experience of lonliness.
