Alex Pretti

I never met the man who became one of ICE agents’ latest victims. I have since learned he was an ICU nurse in a VA facility, and a bicyclist, amongst other identifiers. I watched a video of the man presiding over the last rites of a United States veteran. And I saw the video of Alex Pretti trying to help a woman on the ground while holding his cellphone in his hand.
I saw the ICE agents swarm Alex Pretti and bring him to the ground. Alex Pretti had his hands and knees on the ground. I saw an ICE agent step away followed by other ICE agents, and then the ICE agents opened fire and shot Alex Pretti multiple times for no reason. That’s intentional first-degree murder.
It’s not just intentional first-degree murder, it’s premeditated murder, felony-murder, and conspiracy to commit murder. And it’s not “for no reason” that the ICE agents shot multiple times. Rather, when ICE agent Ross murdered Renee Good, the optics looked bad because only agent Ross fired his gun; it begged the question, “If Renee Good was such threat, why didn’t any of the other ICE agents recognize the threat and open fire on Renee Good?”
Now even when you are a law-abiding, licensed open-carry U.S. citizen, dedicated to the honorable profession of nursing, ICE agents can knock you to the ground for exercising their constitutional rights under the United States Constitution. That’s what Alex Pretti was doing, exercising his constitutional right under the First Amendment–to video record and observe and protest and voice his grievances peacefully.

Anyone see the clip with former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura following the murder of Renee Good? In it, Governor Ventura compared the United States to a Third World Country. I won’t get into the rhetoric, but the fact is, ICE agents have been militarized against United States Citizens. Another fact, of the three known homicides in Minneapolis since the start of the new year, 2026, two were committed by ICE.
Even the National Rifle Association has taken a stand on this one. Because it’s ok if you have involuntary servitude under the Thirteenth Amendment; or to abuse a prisoners in violation of the Eighth Amendment; or to deny a defendant his rights in violation of the Sixth Amendment; or a suspect’s rights under the Fifth Amendment; or to kill Renee Good in violation of the Fourth Amendment. But when you execute a licensed open-carry citizen in violation of the Second Amendment, that is where the NRA draws the line.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
I don’t want to get all off into this because there are a lot of news outlets reporting on this, and you can draw your own opinions. I just wanted to take a minute to recognize and honor the life of Alex Pretti.
